Welcome to the Guesthouse of the Teutonic Order

The historic atmosphere of the Teutonic Order Guesthouse, dating back to the 18th century, is combined with the comforts of modern living – a true insider tip for visitors to Vienna.

Since 1809, the building has served as the residence of the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order. It also houses the Order’s Treasury, the Church of St. Elisabeth, and the Sala Terrena on the ground floor, with its illusionistic 18th-century wall paintings.

The house is closely connected to two great composers:
In 1781, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart stayed here as part of the entourage of Salzburg Archbishop Hieronymus Count Colloredo. Later, between 1863 and 1865, Johannes Brahms also lived in this building for an extended period.

The spacious rooms are stylishly furnished and equipped with modern bathrooms, TV, telephone, and Wi-Fi. Whether you're looking for a single, double, or family room – the choice is yours. All major sights of Vienna’s historic center are within easy walking distance.

Charming Viennese cafés offering breakfast are just around the corner.

Please note: Pets are not allowed in the house.

You are also warmly invited to attend or help celebrate Holy Mass in the Church of St. Elisabeth.
